System as Code
2026

These works use programming syntax as a notation, not to simulate function,
but to expose decision, dependency, and interruption as visual structure.

The code visible in the images is readable but non-functional. It describes conditions rather than narratives. The viewer encounters a controlled visual field in which structure appears stable while meaning shifts subtly.
The series avoids moral commentary and emotional dramatization. Instead, it focuses on systemic relations as elements of the same constructed order.
Within the work, the image functions less as representation than as a site of negotiation between perception and structure. The panels do not illustrate code; they use its form to question how environments shape thought.
The text excerpts are taken from a radio play script by Christa Walhof.
